After 14 years, another Filipino brings glory to the Philippine bowling, as Krizziah Lyn Tabora won the championship in the women’s division of the 53rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup (BWC), held last November 11, at Hermosillo, Mexico.
Tabora is the fifth Filipino to win the BWC title after it was last claimed in 2003. She bested Malaysia’s Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, 232-196, clinching her first international singles championship.
“Actually, nabigla ako kasi unexpected din naman,” Tabora shares. “Parang I just enjoyed bowling then dumating na lang ‘tong blessing na ‘to sa akin. So ang sarap sa pakiramdam kasi sobra ‘yong pag-welcome sa akin.”
Tabora will be competing in the World Championships, in Las Vegas, on November 24 to 25, with six medals at stake.
