In an emotional video log or vlog, Filipino-American Youtube celebrity Wil Dasovich announced last Friday, February 2, that he’s cancer-free. This came six months since he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer.
After undergoing chemotherapy that ended just this January, Dasovich narrated in the video the struggles he went through from leading an adventurous and healthy life to suddenly having to beat his cancer at 25 years old.
After completing nine cycles of chemotherapy, the California native, who became widely popular in the television show Pinoy Big Brother back in 2016, joined by his sister Haley and mother Charry, listened to the phone call that would reveal the results of the pathology analysis on the presence of remaining cancer cells in his body, or whether or not he would need further treatment. The results turned out negative, which also meant Dasovich was cancer-free and would only be under surveillance for any recurrent cancer.
Concluding his video, Dasovich stated: “Life is filled with ups and downs and part of living is finding a way to get past as many obstacles thrown on your course. If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere. We all have our own challenges ahead of us but it’s how you respond to these challenges that will define you. Don’t let challenge be the thing that brings you down. Let it be the thing that lifts you up.”
