If taking care of the body is your calling, you might want to check out FitCon MNL 2018, gathering experts and enthusiasts for the second year, from May 18 to 20, at Green Sun, Makati. We’re bound to pick up the latest in fitness and health there, and just by browsing through the packed three-day schedule, we can already tell how we’re in for one challenging experience—or entertaining, at the very least.
Today’s exercise trends are known for their quirky branding. Sometimes it is based on the equipment being used (barre, step aerobics) and other times combining different concepts together (Piloxing, Tae Bo, Jazzercise, Yogilates). There are also instances when it’s an entirely made up word that just works for no reason (Zumba). Anyway, here are some of those interesting programs that—just based on their names—we believe are worth checking out at FitCon MNL this weekend!
BOSU Boot Camp
The BOSU Boot Camp seems hella scary. By using mainly what’s known as a BOSU (a “BOth Sides Up/Utilized” ball), a Boot Camp version should post a more intense, uptempo training to participants. It adds cardio and strength, on top of the balance and core training concerns.
If you think we’re overhyping, just check out how this mixed martial artist in the above video incorporates the BOSU ball into his workout. It’s not technically a Boot Camp class, but with the way the trainer is pushing his student throughout the workout, it might as well have been in the army.
