The NU Pep Squad successfully made their ‘comebark’ after reclaiming the championship in the UAAP Cheerance Competition 2018 held yesterday, at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay.
The Bulldogs pulled off a flawless Coco film-inspired performance. Describing the routine as an impeccable display of skills and talent is not an exaggeration. The squad scored a total of 711 points, with no penalty and deduction.
In the last six years of NU Pep Squad’s participation in what is deemed as the most anticipated sporting event in the UAAP calendar, they clinched the championship five times already.
The FEU Cheering Squad, all colorful and glittered, also made its return to the podium after placing second with a total of 655.5 points.
Grooving to a funky 70’s music, the Tamaraws’ performance was both pleasing to the eyes and ears of the ecstatic crowd.
Despite being dethroned as the champion, Adamson Pep Squad didn’t fall short in pulling off a podium-worthy performance, tallying a total of 638.5 points.
Coming in as fast and fierce as a lion, the San Marcelino squad narrated the cycle of life through The Lion King-inspired routine.
Beyonce fan or not, almost everyone was on their feet as the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe slayed a diva-level performance based on the music of Sasha Fierce, arguably one of the best performers in the world.
In spite of not making it to the podium–just .5 points away to get tied with Adamson Pep Squad at the third spot–the Tigers brought to Espanña the Best Toss Special Award.
