“It’s confirmed! I will be back to play for the Philippines in February! Can’t wait to win these two games for the best fans in the world,” said Blatche through Theia Sports Facebook Page.
It will be the first time for the former Washington Wizard to suit up for the national team since getting a three-game suspension by FIBA for his involvement during the Gilas-Boomers brawl back in July.
Gilas will be flying to play games in Qatar and Kazakhstan from February 21-24. This will be the first time that Blatche will join the team under Coach Yeng Guiao.
According to a reliable source, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) had reached out to Blatche and both sides agreed that he will be suiting up by the sixth window.
However, there is no finalized date as of this writing on when the in the 32-year-old cager will arrive although Blatche will be ready by the February games.
