Pia Wurtzbach remains to be the queen that she has always been.
Having been crowned as Miss Universe Philippines in 2015, Pia continues to influence the world in more ways than we can imagine. She’s vocal for relevant causes like her #ImBringingSexyBach campaign.
A quick glance at Pia and one can see how healthy and active she is. Following the beauty queen on social media reveals her commitment to fitness. With her persistent efforts to train and eat well, being confidently beautiful, sexy, and fit is Pia’s way of life.
That, among many other reasons, is why she has been chosen to be the 2019 calendar girl of Ginebra San Miguel (GSM), in celebration of its 185th year.
With over eight shots featured in the GSM 2019 Calendar—now available in stores and dealers nationwide—it is without a doubt that no other woman embodies the Filipino spirit more than Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.
Pia joined Binibining Pilipinas several times, finally earning the Miss Universe Philippines title on her third attempt. From her amateur days in the beauty pageantry, to her glory days as the crowned queen, Pia has been known to be the resilient Filipina that she is. And with this comes a bulk load of expectations.
The same goes for her preparations as the calendar girl. It’s been a while since Pia graced a swimsuit photo shoot, and GSM is also the first outside the Miss Universe Organization to facilitate one for her. But because Pia is Pia, she yet again exceeded expectations.
The 29-year-old, in a very casual delivery, says that she didn’t have to prepare much for the project, “If you make it part of your lifestyle to work out and eat healthy, I don’t think it’s hard.”
Paying attention to Pia’s physique, it is inevitable to ask: How often does she go to the gym?
“I try to go every day,” Pia answers. As a fitness enthusiast, the gym has become Pia’s haven; a place where she relieves stress and spends her ‘me time.’ Whenever she hits the gym, Pia works out at a comfortable pace.
“I don’t push myself. I do cardio and weights. If there is (more) time, I do yoga or pilates class. I just go and I sweat it out,” Pia says.
On her Instagram account, Pia actively shares her fitness journey. #ImBringingSexyBach, which has become an advocacy, of sorts, leads you to a fitness-related post that goes back to as early as 2015.
Four years after and Pia stays committed. If that isn’t an embodiment of Filipino spirit, I don’t know what is.
