Six-foot-five middle blocker Francis Saura may be the youngest of three siblings, but he sure is not a goofing kid in the UAAP. With his height and power, Saura is undeniably a force to be reckoned with on both sides of defense and offense.
We’ll probably see him display such force in the days to follow, as the Bulldogs are currently at the top seed, with a secured spot in the semis. But before that, let’s get to know more about him, only here on MBody’s #BeyondTheCourt.
How do you manage your time in academics and training?
Mindset. Kahit pagod, kailangan pasukan. Kung hindi kaya, gagawan ng paraan. Mahirap, pero unang-una talaga is pag-aaral.
What’s your favorite subject?
Math. Gusto ko ‘yong mga problem solving.
Do you play other sports apart from volleyball?
Chess. Paminsan, basketball.
What do you do off season?
Bakasyon talaga, usually hanging out with my high school friends, naka-schedule ‘yon. Pero kapag dito lang, aral or gala with tropa.
What’s your favorite travel destination?
Sa napuntahan ko na, Japan. Training ‘yon. Sa Pilipinas, gusto ko namang puntahan is Siargao, mga beaches.
On your cheat days, what do you usually crave for?
Mostly, I crave for burger and pizza, or any pasta. Usually ‘yong mga pinaiiwasan ni coach na food, ‘yon ‘yong cravings ko.
What’s the social media platform that you use the most and why?
Actually, lahat. Sa Facebook, mahilig ako mag-share ng memes.
What’s something that’s always in your bag?
Earphones. Sapatos. Charger.
What’s your usual Spotify playlist?
Wala akong Spotify, pero halos Filipino songs, like ‘Dalagang Pilipina. Madalas OPM.
When you want to be motivated, what movies or books do you get inspiration from?
May one time na down na down ako, and then, nakita ko sa Netflix ‘yong ‘Isn’t It Romantic?’ No’ng natapos ko, na-inspire ako. Pero mostly, I get motivated whenever I read the Bible.
Are you in a relationship?
Yes, with Roma Joy Doromal. Former NU women’s volleyball athlete. Naglalaro siya ngayon sa Bangko Perlas.
What’s your motto in life?
Love yourself; basta para sa ikasasaya mo, at wala ka namang natatapakang tao.
What do you want to do after college?
Gusto ko pa ring i-pursue ‘yong volleyball, panimula lang. If hindi volleyball, either maging flight attendant or piloto. Then magkaroon ngbusiness.
